Forward Panels

The Forward Panels for Captain and First Officer is now installed ready and connected. The whole Main Instrument Area is finished. At the moment I still build the last Pedestal Panels. If these Panels are ready, I can programming the new Buttons and Switches. Then, I also put the new OC codes to the Downloaden Area.

MIP Main Instrument Panel
After a long time once again an update. I have build the Main instrument Panel two times. The normal Led's have a bad illumination. In the second time I use round beaming Led's from LED1. Please look for "rundstrahlende Led's", the Link is http://www.led1.de. These Led's have a fantastic illumination. With 5V Voltage, I have used a 220 ohm resistor for each Led.

My Flightsticks are ready ! I have bought the Flightsticks from the company Itra at Berlin. For the control of the axes, I use from Logitech two Attack 3 joysticks. I had to turn an aluminium tube in order to connect grips and joysticks with the different diameters. In the end, the two connections were soldered on the circuit board of the joysticks for "Sidestick Priority" and the "radio contact". You can buy the rubbers at Horst Maron website.

Warning Panels and MIP Illumination

For the lighting of the Main instrument Panels MIP I have bought myself from Conrad in Germany 1 watt LED's with plastic lens. The LED's are very bright and deliver no warmth! For the installation in the Glareshield done of wood that is the best solution. About the minus cable I have connected a switch. About the plus cable I can dimming the LED's with a 5K OHM Rotary potentiometer !

ECAM displays and autopilot panels
I have equipped the lights panels with plexi backer and 3 cm long spacers for a later montage of the rotaries and switches. With alu profiles, the panels were installed at the sides.
I connected the autopilot panels over 10 cm and 15 cm long spacers with the same wood panels. That wood panels is screwed on the underside of the glareshield. The overhang of the glareshields amounts to 27 cm !
For the ECAM's, I have one 18 '' TFT monitor uses. In order to turn the monitor about 90 degrees, I have built an individual mounting from wood again.

The monitors for PFD und ND display, attachment of the MIP Panels and first glare construction
I have installed in a first step the developed 17 '' TFT displays into the center. At the edges of the MIP panels, I have attached 8 mm squared timbers . On this squared timbers I served 2 mm magnetic strips. At the corresponding positions for the magnetic strips, 2 mm metal strips at the Center screwed on. I have used 2 mm plexi glass for the PFD and ND displays. Into the MIP panels, I have attached a 9 mm wood-framework. The plexi glass was screwed on the wood framework!
For a better hold, I have attached the base plate for the glarshield with aluminium profiles. The excerpts were done into the base plate for the later wiring and illumination. The panels for the autopilot are attached over 15 and 10 cm long spacers with 3 mm screw threads with the corresponding counter panels.

Building the chart holder and preparing the PFD and ND displays
I sawed the chart holder from 2 mm aluminum-plates. Important before the varnishing is the defatting of the metal and put on a surfacer for the lacquer!
For one year, I have already possessed my 2 TFT monitors (17 ''). The frames of that monitor was many too wide for the mounting into my flightdeck. So I had to develop the TFT displays from the normal frameworks and had to equip with a new mounting.
